Our MBA in Education Leadership and Management has been designed for teachers, departmental heads, lecturers, managers, leaders and senior professionals working in education in the public, private and non-profit sectors in Cyprus and abroad. In an increasingly competitive environment, this course provides educational practitioners with an opportunity to develop your organisational, management and business skills as well as to enhance your professional practice.
This postgraduate course will give you the opportunity to work alongside leaders and managers in preparation for real-life challenges. You will also work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds to develop a community of practice that we will encourage to continue beyond the end of the MBA programme.
Teaching and learning
The programme involves both extensive independent research and discussion in the context of workshops, designed to encourage the development of your critical, analytical and reflective skills. Material is delivered through a mixture of lectures, group discussion, case studies, experiential learning, project work, individual practical projects, leadership walks and organised visits to other organisations.
A variety of methods is used for assessment purposes, including written assignments, directed tasks, simulations, and short oral presentations. Final percentage grades will be awarded at the end of each module based on pre-determined criteria and outcomes.
Content and Duration
This is a full-time one year programme. The full-time mode of study is three evening sessions per week, however, the course is also available on a part-time basis, two evenings a week over a period of 24 months.You will need approximately six to nine contact hours a week, but as independent study is fundamental, the total study time will be around 36 hours a week. The full MBA course consists of 8 modules in total, including a dissertation of up to 15,000 words.
Candidates must normally provide evidence of a good honours degree in any subject. They are also expected to have some years of managerial or professional experience in an education context. If you are a graduate from a non-English speaking institution, you will be required to provide evidence of your English Language knowledge.
For the Postgraduate Diploma in Education Leadership and Management, you will be required to complete all modules in the first and second semester in order to earn a total of 180 UK credits (90 ECTS). You will also need to complete a dissertation of up to 15,000 words.
This postgraduate course will not only enhance your professional practice, managerial, business and leadership skills, but you will develop a deeper understanding of existing and innovative practices in your chosen field.
